THE POLITICAL SYSTEM!
[/u]The political system of most areas of the world has broken down since the war began. The government could no longer control the people who were panicking as they attempted to save their families from danger, and as the fighting became more and more central in day to day life, the LDSC gained power until they practically ruled the streets they were protecting.
When Rosepetal Falls won the war within the perimeter of its little town, things changed again. A political system slowly rose out of the ashes, but it was different to the earlier version. It no longer depended on outer influences (which were now too unstable to help anyway) and meant the town would entirely rule itself. The LDSC gave power back to these new politicians, so the slayers could focus more on their military role, and the town settled into equilibrium again.
It’s a simple system, partly to deal with the intolerance to politics that a lot of people have developed after the war broke out in the first place, with the power distributed between only ten people. These ten make up the ‘Committee’, and each member is of equal rank, though all may have their own specialities. Each Committee member has a team of five who work for them in whatever sense they ask, be that research, secretary work, putting agreed proposals into action or just simply getting the coffee; it’s up to the team leader to decide.
